Lung cancer is considered the leading cause of can-cer-related death worldwide, in both men and women, with a poor five-year survival rate (18%)(1,2), most patients presenting in advanced-stage disease at the diagnosis, with low response at conventional chemo-therapeutic agents.

Tuberculosis (TB) among children is much more prevalent in developing countries, where resources for TB control are scarce, than in industrialized countries(1). The pulmonary infection with Echinococcus granulosus (EG) continues to be endemic in Romania, given its large rural population involved in sheep herding, with an inci-dence of 1:10,000 and a mortality of 2-4%(1).

Swyer-James-MacLeod syndrome – report of two adult cases and review of the literature
